Jazz launches ride-hailing service ‘mLift’ in twin cities

Jazz’s ride-hailing service is currently an exclusive service for Jazz customer but will be available for all after launch of the app

After the successful launch of global ride-hailing companies, Uber and Careem in Pakistan, now he largest telecommunication company in Pakistan, Jazz, has launched its own ride-hailing service.

Jazz’s ride-hailing service is called “mLift’ will connect rider with drivers over IVR or voice call, i.e. no internet connection will be required.

Initially, the mLift service has been rolled-out to customers in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, but the company plans to expand services to other cities very soon.

Jazz’s ride-hailing service is currently an exclusive service for Jazz customers. However, with the launch of app, customers of other operators or anyone else will be able to use the service.

As Jazz’s mLift service don’t need of internet availability and suits those millions of customers who don’t use internet, therefore it’s expected to reach the heights of success.

Besides it, mLift is taking into consideration about the threats that were faced to Uber and Careem transport services.

According to the statement issued on the company’s website, “As we march forward in bridging the gap between digital enablement for our users, we are launching an on-demand intra-city ride booking service, mLift, where customers can book a ride simply by dialing 7555”.

Moreover, mLift is taking into consideration about the threats that were faced to Uber and Careem transport services. mLift won’t be buying brand new cars but will be using the old ones so investors can invest their money on something better to look after facilities.

Ride-hailing market in Pakistan is a huge market. More than 20-30 million Pakistanis commute daily without having their own car/ride. With Careem or Uber’s current expansion plans, it seems impossible to tap this market entirely, particularly when already operating transportation services are completely absent from their business plans.

Following are simple steps to book your ride.

  • Dial 7555 to book a ride
  • Negotiate Fare
  • Take ride
  • Record feedback if any by dialing 7555 and pressing 3

Currently the Service is available to the Jazz customers in Rawalpindi/Islamabad only.
