Pakistan executes four TTP militants tried by military courts

Hanged militants confessed their offences including murdering citizens, military forces and abduction of FC personnel’s

Four hardcore terrorists associated with Tehrek Talban Pakistan (TTP) has been executed in Rawalpindi after death sentenced by military court, said a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The media wing of military Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated, that all four were involved in serious crimes including murdering citizens.

“These terrorists were involved in committing heinous offences related to terrorism, including killing of innocent civilians, attacking armed forces of Pakistan and law enforcement agencies (LEAs),” ISPR said.

The suspected terrorists were active members of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). According to ISPR. The hanged militants had confessed their offences before the magistrate and the trial court, ISPR said

The list of hanged militants is as follow:

  • Muhammad Adil (son of Muhamad Akbar Jan)
  • Latif-ur-Rehman (son of Saif-ur-Rehman)
  • Barkat Ali (son of Abdul Ghafar)
  • Ishaq (son of Abdul Hai)

All the listed terrorist were all actives members of the terrorist outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and were involved in attacks on military forces and abduction of FC personnel.

Earlier on April 24, four hardcore TTP terrorists who were found guilty of involvement in committing heinous offences related to terrorism were executed at a jail in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Military courts were discontinued January 7, 2017, after a sunset clause under which the tribunals were established, expired.

However, on March 31 President Mamnoon Hussain gave his assent to the Pakistan Army Act 2017 and the 23rd Constitutional Amendment Bill. After which, the courts were subsequently revived from the day of their previous discontinuance.
