Pakistan Post has launched a new delivery service “Same Day Delivery” for delivering goods in twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad on the same day.
Minister for Postal Services, Maulana Syed Ameer Zaman Bukhari, will inaugurate the service and Post Master General Arshad Ali Khan was also present.
The Federal Minister said he service was being launched under the directives of Prime Minister to make the organization a profit-earning and vibrant entity.
According to official sources, the people of federal capital and adjoining areas would be able to send their goods up to 20 kg through this service at the shortest possible time on the day of the booking.
Pakistan Post has established special desks at designated post offices of twin cities to facilitate clients and this service will benefit business community as well.
The clients will be informed through SMS about the latest status their mail, parcels and gifts sent to their dear ones on the same day of the booking.
The people can acquire the Same Day Service by 11:30 daily. The charges included Rs 150 on first 500-gram weight and then Rs 50 on each and every additional 500-gram weight parcel.
The services are available at different designated post offices of Islamabad including Islamabad GPO, F-7 Post Mall, F-10 Markaz, G-5 Foreign Service, G-10, G-9 Markaz, I-10/4, I-8/4, F-6 Markaz, F-8 Markaz, G-7 Markaz, G-8 Markaz, I-9 Markaz’and the post office situated at Prime Minister office.
Pakistan Post is emphasizing the use of new communication and information technologies to move beyond what is traditionally regarded as its core postal business.
According to Post office Spokesperson If the project is successful in twin cities then the service will extend to other cities as well.
