First Pakistani film of 2018 ‘Parchi’ receive mixed reviews

The movie has generated almost 3 crores rupees in its opening weekend

The first movie of Pakistan’s film industry in 2018 ‘Parchi’ receives mixed reviews in its opening weekend but box office numbers speak otherwise.

The film ‘Parchi’ has marked the first film of this year and it has performed better than all winter releases so far, according to their local distributors.

The year 2018 may not be off to the best start as far as Pakistani cinema is concerned. Parchi, the first film released this year, is a disappointing and largely bland experience.

‘Parchi’ is an action comedy with hints of love and romance, its cast includes Hareem Farooq, Ali Rehman Khan, and Usman Mukhtar, in lead roles along with Ahmed Ali Akbar, Shafqat Khan, Shafqat Cheema, Faizan Sheikh & Faiza Saleem.

Box Office Detail reports, the film earned 90 lacs on Friday, 1.1cr on Saturday and 90 lacs on Sunday, reaching a total of 2.9 Cror by the end of its opening weekend. If we include the amount it collected on Monday, 40lacs, then Parchi has earned 3.3cr so far.

During this winter, four Pakistani films, namely ‘Rangreza’, ‘Arth – The Destination’, ‘Chupan Chupai’ and ‘Parchi’ have released during this winter. Where Parchi has been performing better than all winter releases.

Parchi is now going to be the first Pakistani film to release in Saudi Arabia19th of January 2018 as well in France, after a progressive move by Saudi Arabia’ Crown Prince to reestablish cinemas and filmmaking in the country.

Parchi team is hoping the movie to be a big success since it is expected to garner huge profits. Apart from Pakistan, the movie will be released in various countries including the USA, UK, UAE, Canada and a few others countries.

Parchi has performed exceptionally well in Rawalpindi/Islamabad where numbers are equivalent to big releases. If we compare the figures with “Chupan Chupai” that falls under a similar genre, Parchi leads the game with opening numbers more than the former’s total business till now.

The co-producer Arif Lakhani of the movie said the entire team of ‘Parchi’ has worked really hard to make ‘Parchi’ possible. The dedication and hard work of the entire team can be seen in the trailer itself. We hope the audiences enjoy the movie.
