Georg Kofler is an international entrepreneur and investor in the entertainment industry. He was the driving force behind some of the biggest media companies in the country and is still considered to this day as the absolute top executive and expert in entertainment and marketing. Kofler gained greater notoriety as an investor in the VOX show “Die Höhle der Löwen”, when he initially represented his business partner Judith Williams there and then took turns with her on a regular basis.
Georg Kofler was born in 1957 as the son of a lumberjack father and a factory worker in South Tyrol, Italy. His father died when Kofler was four years old, so he grew up in modest circumstances as an orphan. Kofler therefore began to work in a wide variety of areas while he was still at school. Among other things, he worked as a dishwasher in a hotel and as a ski instructor. After graduating from high school, Kofler began studying journalism and communication sciences, which he completed in 1983 with his doctorate. He then worked as an assistant to the artistic director at the ORF and later at Leo Kirch. Thus, the way into the media industry was already recognizable at an early stage.
After his first steps in the media world, a steep and sustained ascent began. Between 1988 and 2000, Kofler was the managing director and board member of the then new station Pro7, before moving to HSE and finally in 2002 to the Premiere station. This was later to have a great influence on Kofler’s career and his net worth. Kofler managed within just a few years to turn Premiere into an almost all-powerful group that dominated the media world and finally went public at the beginning of 2005 with a record value of 14.5 billion euros.
Kofler was also able to sell a large part of his shares himself. He then sold the remaining shares in 2007, shortly before leaving the company. With the sale of his shares, Kofler is said to have earned around 100 million euros and thus a large part of his net worth. After leaving Premiere, Kofler devoted himself to his own ventures. Among other things, he founded an investment company for industrial companies, an energy company and, together with Judith Williams, GLOW media, which takes care of the marketing of internet stars.

“We have always liked sleeping competitors.”
“We’ve been in a coma since the beginning of the year. A patient before the last rites. The marketing budget was zero – but we’ve been back since August.”
“The exaggerated use of Anglicisms among managers is such a small display of urbane swagger, to put it more bluntly, peacock swagger. Incidentally, this is much more common in men than in women.”
The quotes from Georg Kofler show very nicely what attitude Kofler represents in business as well as in private life. There are always difficult times that have to be overcome before things get better again. But it must never be given up. It is also clear that Kofler makes no distinctions between men and women. Qualification and ability are much more important to him than unnecessary power games. This is also shown again in his collaboration at GLOW Media with Judith Williams.
Even today, Georg Kofler manages to keep his private life largely out of the public eye. All that is known is that he is a father of three.
Kofler is also politically active outside of business life. For several years he has regularly supported the FDP and the CDU with generous donations.
In his free time, Kofler has always enjoyed being active in sports since he was young. He is regarded as an excellent skier and also likes to be out and about in nature.
