The musician was born in 1978 to his parents Clementina and Bruno Zarrella in Hechingen. Since his parents are Italian, Giovanni Zarella grew up bilingual, just like his sister and brother. Giovanni Zarella took piano and organ lessons from a young age, and from the age of 15 singing lessons were added. In the 1990s, Giovanni Zarella lived with his family in Italy for some time. Giovanni Zarella’s career began when he and many other applicants attended a casting for the Popstars show in Stuttgart on October 10, 2001.
