JP (civil Jean-Pierre Kraemer) was born on September 12, 1980 in Plettenberg, a town in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. His mother is German by birth and his father is Bahamian. He grew up in Dortmund, where he attended the Gartenstadt comprehensive school. His affinity for machines and cars developed at a young age.

After successfully completing his high school diploma, Jean Pierre Kramer began one Apprenticeship at Porsche, after which he became sales manager at 9ff. In the year 2007 he founded his with his business partner Sidney Hoffmann first company, the “Five Star Performance GmbH”. 2 years later they received the docu-soap “The PS professionals – more power out of the pot” from the station Sport1 (then still DSF). The location was the company’s workshop. Between 2010 and 2012 they ran the show together with Tim Schrick “Turbo – The Car Magazine”which was also broadcast on the DSF channel.
