Jochen Schweizer was born on June 23, 1957 in Ettlingen, Baden-Württemberg. He is primarily known as the founder and owner of the company “Jochen Schweizer” and as a former investor in the TV show “Die Höhle der Löwen”.
Born in Ettlingen, Jochen Schweizer grew up in Heidelberg. Here he also passed his Abitur at the Willy-Hellpach-Wirtschaftsgymnasium. After graduating from high school, his path first led him to Africa, which he crossed by motorbike. After this adventure, he trained as a logistician. At the same time, he attended courses at the University of Freiburg.
Following his training, his path led him back to the African continent. More precisely to West Africa, where he carried out transports for an international forwarding company. He later climbed the career ladder and became managing director of a branch in Munich.
Jochen Schweizer’s career as an independent entrepreneur began in 1985 with the founding of an event and marketing agency. At that time the company was still trading under the name “Kajak Sports Productions”. It was only later that the well-known “Jochen Schweizer group of companies” emerged. Schweizer recognized the growing importance of fun and extreme sports early on. In the years that followed, the company produced several films that dealt with fun and extreme sports.
In 1989, the first stationary bungee jumping facility in Germany was opened in Oberschleißheim near Munich. Jochen Schweizer made bungee jumping popular in Germany.
He holds several world records in extreme sports. Among others the one for the deepest bungee jump. For this he jumped 1,050 meters from a helicopter in 1997.
As a stuntman, he appeared in several films. For example in “Fire, Ice and Dynamite”, “Bandits” and “The Amanzing Race”.
