John “Johnny” Marc Galecki was born in Bree, Belgium, where his father, Richard Galecki, was stationed in the United States Air Forces. At the age of three, Galecki moved back to the United States, to Chicago, with his parents and two younger siblings. At the age of seven he showed a keen interest in acting and performed at the Goodman Theater in Chicago. At the age of ten, Galecki made his television debut with the mini-series Consecrated Killer.
Career
In 1989, Galecki’s television and film career took off. He played the role of Russell Griswold in the American comedy film “Nice Christmas Eve”. Two years later his role in the TV series “Man of Dreams” followed. From 1992 to 1997, the American played the supporting role of David Healy in the well-known cult series “Roseanne”, which is about the working-class family “Connor”. Since 2007 Galecki has played one of the main roles in the cult series “The Big Bang Theory”. He starred alongside Will Smith in the superhero film Hancock. In 2011, Galecki co-starred in the sci-fi thriller In Time alongside well-known actors such as Justin Timberlake, Amanda Seyfried and Olivia Wilde.
