Short introduction
Michaela Schaffrath is a German actress, dubbing actress, speaker and presenter, who became known as a porn actress from 1997 to 2000 under the pseudonym “Gina Wild”.
early life
Michaela Schaffrath was born on December 6, 1970 in Eschweiler, Germany. She spent her childhood in the Eschweiler district of Pumpe-Stich. After graduating from secondary school at the Waldschule Eschweiler, she began training as a pediatric nurse in 1988, which she successfully completed in 1991 at the Bethlehem Health Center in the neighboring town of Stolberg. Due to moving, she only worked in her profession for four years. After Michaela Schaffrath moved to Frankfurt am Main, she was employed there for three years at the Clementine Children’s Hospital and on the neuropediatric ward.
The first points of contact with her later work as a porn actress came when she visited various swinger clubs with her first husband. She worked as a hostess at erotic fairs and met the porn actor Rocco Siffredi in 1997 at the well-known Venus fair.
Career
Michaela Schaffrath signed her first contract in the porn industry with producer Hans Moser and flew to the Spanish island of Mallorca with her husband. However, the cooperation failed after just a few weeks due to personal conflicts and disagreements regarding the contract. Michaela Schaffrath was confronted with a financial failure. On the other hand, her cooperation with the production company Videorama, with which she worked after her return to Germany, was more successful. From 1999, she became a celebrated porn star through a campaign by the porn magazine Happy Weekend and her first films with producer Harry S. Morgan under the pseudonym Gina Wild.
In 2000, Michaela Schaffrath turned her back on the porn industry and has been working as an actress, voice actress and moderator for various formats ever since. She had her first appearance in the crime comedy “Der tote Taucher im Wald” and was seen there in 2001 alongside Dieter Pfaff, Uwe Ochsenknecht and Ingo Naujoks. Further brief appearances in the cinema short film Déjà vu and in the comic adaptation “Nick Knatterton – Der Film” followed in 2001 and 2002. Michaela Schaffrath also took on a number of television roles in the series formats “Edel & Starck”, “In the Name of the Law”, “Alles Atze ”, “The Guard”, “SK Kölsch”, “Wolffs Revier” and “Bernds Hexe”. Furthermore, she was represented in the TV movie “Beloved Thief” in 2001. In the music video for the single “Warum will I not be full” by the successful German rock band “Die Toten Hosen” Michaela Schaffrath played the leading role together with the band leader Campino.
In 2001, Michaela Schaffrath published her autobiography Ich, Gina Wild, which was followed in October 2003 by the audio book of the same name.
In cooperation with the German television channel RTL, Michaela Schaffrath was represented at RTL Promiboxen in October 2002. Her competitor was Doro Pesch, who had to admit defeat. She was also in the third season of “I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here!” to see and was able to win second place.
On the Comedy Central station, Michaela Schaffrath was seen as the presenter of the program “Der Comedy-Sketch-Mix”. Furthermore, in May 2008 she won a sum of 125,000 euros in the celebrity special edition of the guessing show “Who wants to be a millionaire”. She donated half of her profits to a children’s hospital and a charity for children with cancer.
Although Michaela Schaffrath repeatedly distances herself publicly from her time as a well-known porn actress, she is still considered one of the most well-known German porn stars to this day. However, she has no marketing rights to her films and for this reason no longer earns any money with her productions.
In 2002, Michaela Schaffrath began taking voice training and acting lessons in preparation for a job at the theatre. Since completing an acting seminar in 2010 at the Cologne International Film School, she has mainly appeared in theaters as an actress.
Career highlights
Michaela Schaffrath received the Venus Award in 1999 for Best Newcomer and in 2000 for Best Actress.
