Aisha Mughal appointment purely based on merit to Join department of Gender studies

A very rare and interesting appointment happened for the very first time in the history of Pakistan. Normally, transgender community is probably the most under represented group of people, from the minute when born, to the time they die, they are mocked and ridiculed.

The Official of Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad broke all stereotypes and welcomed Aisha Mughal as a lecturer in Department of Gender studies.

The commendable fact about Aisha’s appointment is that she came forward and stood strong to prove her mettle in a society like ours.

The news was well-received and went viral shorty over social media. The social activists expressed their views about Aisha Mughal appointment.

“We need more places like this to hire transgenders and make them feel equal”, a social activist member applauded University’s move.

“Good to see some progress in our extremist society,” wrote another member.

People in their comments said that, with proper education and enlightenment can prove to be contributing citizens of society, just like any other individual. With the proper awareness and provision of resources, transgenders can be given the opportunity to carve out a respectable living for themselves.

Some months before, Pakistan fashion industry took step towards empowering its transgender community. Pakistan  Fashion industry recruited Kami Sid, the most vocal transgender activist in Pakistan as Pakistan’s first transgender model.

Earlier, the government registered members of the transgender community as citizens under a Supreme Court order. It Seems like Pakistani community is finally breaking stereotypes towards minorities.

Appointment of Aisha Mughal based on merit will signify that any sort of constraints don’t matter if someone is competent enough to make name for good.
