Sidney Hoffmann was born in Dortmund and grew up there. After elementary school, he went to high school in his hometown of Dortmund and passed his Abitur after high school. Already at the age of 16 he recognized his interest in everything technical, whereby he was particularly drawn to motorcycles. This is how Sidney Hoffmann gained his first experiences with tuning with his new Suzuki Gamma motorcycle. Because he was very talented in this area, he began to work on his friends’ vehicles as well. After graduating from school, Sidney Hoffmann began to study mechanical engineering, but he did not finish his studies. To finance his studies, he repaired old vehicles.
In 2007, Sidney Hoffmann, in collaboration with his partner Jean Pierre Kraemer, founded the company Five Star Performance GmbH in his hometown of Dortmund. Through a pilot film that was broadcast on Focus TV, Sidney Hoffmann and his partner received their own docu-soap on DSF from 2009, which they called Die PS-Profis – Mehr Power aus dem Pott. The filming locations for the programs were various business and workshop rooms of the joint workshop in Dortmund. In addition to the show Die PS-Profis, Sidney Hoffmann presented the show Turbo – Das Automagazin with his partner Kraemer and also with Tim Schrick. In 2012, Sidney Hoffmann left the show Die PS-Profis for a short time in order to open his own workshop in Dortmund. Since then, Sidney Hoffmann has been the managing director of his autotuning workshop Sidney Industries, which he founded in 2012 in the city of Dortmund. Since September 2012, Sidney Hoffmann has been presenting the magazine Mein Neues Auto on Kabel Eins. In addition to the prominent points of his career already mentioned, Sidney Hoffmann was able to land further point wins. From 2014 he got the chance, together with his partner Kramer, to present the docu-soap 2 Profis for 4 wheels on the Vox channel. The show is about finding the most suitable used car for customers. The buyer has the task of presenting his ideas to the two moderators as to which used car it should be. The two moderators then go in search of a suitable model. They are accompanied by a camera.
One of Sidney Hoffmann’s greatest successes to date has been his appearance, incidentally together with his partner Kraemer, at the 2015 Wok World Cup. In addition, Sidney Hoffmann started his YouTube channel Sidney Industries in 2012. This channel became a huge success after a relatively short period of time and as of February 2018 it had around 200,000 subscribers while there were around 35,000,000 video views. In his videos, Sidney Hoffmann deals not only with topics relating to the entire automotive sector, but also with the modification of passenger cars of all classes.
Sidney Hoffmann is more than successful with his company Sidney Industries. His crew now includes several employees who take care of everything to do with vehicle tuning. Sidney Hoffmann is still active on site himself, has an open ear for his customers and employees or tweaks one or the other vehicle himself.
Sidney Hoffmann’s current television appearances have been on the show Die PS-Profis since 2009 and on the show Mein Neuer Alter since 2016. As already mentioned, Sidney Hoffmann had his former television appearances from 2010 to 2012 with Turbo – Das Automagazin, in 2012 with Mein neu Auto, in 2014 with 2 professionals for 4 wheels, in 2015 at the Wok World Cup 2015 and in the same year on TV total Stock car crash challenge.
“All attempts by the TV people to give me written texts or to make fixed moderations have failed miserably.”
Sidney Hoffmann was in a relationship with Leonie Theresa Hagmeyer-Reyinger from 2013 to 2018, who was named Miss Tuning 2013 as Leo Theresa. The couple had the opportunity to be in front of the camera several times, including hosting Die PS-Profis together. Lea Rosenboom has been the new woman at his side since 2019.
