Short introduction

Ufuk Bayraktar, better known by his stage name Ufo361, is a German rapper of Turkish descent from Berlin.

early life

He grew up in Kreuzberg. On October 7th, 2011 his first sampler was released. His artist name is derived from his first name Ufuk and his Kreuzberg zip code 36/61. His debut studio album You Are Not Alone was released in August 2014.

Ufo 361’s rap music is inspired by trap, the American hip hop subgenre. His career began in 2010 when he was signed by rapper Said. After many collaborations, Ufo 361 released the mixtape “Ich bin ein Berliner”. The mix became a hit on the rap scene and was even praised and popularized by famous German rappers like Haftbefehl and the Hamburg hip-hop group 187 Strassenbande. He was followed by several songs, mixtapes and albums until he retired from his musical career in July 2018 for family reasons. At the time, he wrote on Instagram, according to Stern, “Now I need time for myself and my family,” but the break was short-lived. In January 2019 he released his next album – and now, in 2020, his fourth studio album “Rich Rich” has been released. Ufo 361 is currently releasing songs on his own label, Stay High. True to the motto of his line “Rich Rich”.

Career

Referring to John F. Kennedy’s famous “Ich bin ein Berliner” speech, the single became a viral hit in Germany and was shared by famous rappers. Less than eight months later, Ufo361 released Ich bin ein Berliner 2, which reached number 13 on the German album charts. In April 2017 he founded his own record label Stay High. In mid-December 2017, he announced his second studio album 808, which was released in April 2018. The album debuted at number one in the German and Austrian album charts. In 2019 he signed a 15-year-old newcomer (Data Luv) and released his fourth studio album Wave on August 9th.

Career highlights

Ufo361 grew up as a child in the Kreuzberg district of Berlin. Ufo361 started with old school hip hop and over time incorporated trap and cloud rap elements into the music creation. Here he was fascinated by Southern rap and began to develop a repetitive style. In 2017, Ufo decides to name a mannequin head named Tiffany as his girlfriend. Since then they have been inseparable and he dedicated a song to her that became a summer hit. At the end of the year he founded his own label Stay High. His fourth solo album “808” was released in April 2018, and just four months later Ufo already has the next record “VVS” ready.

Shortly thereafter, the Kreuzberg rapper announced his resignation because he needed more time for himself, his friends and family. He arranged his departure from the rap business as a funeral with a wreath of flowers and souvenirs, including a headstone. In one breath he announces unreleased features and other music videos. It’s all over? Nobody knows. However, those declared dead are known to live longer. A wisdom that is confirmed again this time: as soon as he said goodbye, Ufo361 immediately returned.

In the middle of 2019 his next album “Wave” was released with a cover in the style of “Future Trance”. The label includes many performances: protégés of his label Rin, Data Luv, Yung Hurn, Kontra K., Luciano, KC Rebell, RAF Camora and American rapper Gunna. Speaking of Data Luv, the 15-year-old boy signs to UFO’s Stay High label and releases his debut GOAT that same year. In spring 2020, after several unsuccessful singles, Ufo released his strongest album to date “Rich Rich”, on which he is supported by many well-known producers: The Cratez, Sonus030, Jimmy Torrio, OZ and Gezin.

Is the Berliner resting on his laurels? Of course not. Growing heartache over his love for Tiffany led him to rent a villa from producer Sonus in north Milan and record an album there. The result was Nur für Dich, which was due out in October of that year.

Ufo361 brings ambiance and rhythm from the USA to Germany without creating cramped or intentional behaviors. This is also confirmed by the characteristics of his two rappers – Future and Gunna. He is a tireless workhorse who works a lot and never stands still.

The song “Nice Girl 2.0” brought him special fame, which rose to 16th place in the German charts. He even won the gold record he set with over 200,000 sales. His second studio album “VVS” from his label was also successful in German-speaking countries in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. And the third album “Wave” with various releases was even presented in the top 10 of the DACH region.
