Short introduction

Verona Pooth, better known in Germany by her maiden name Verona Feldbusch, is a successful TV star, model and entrepreneur. Verona was best known for her marriage to pop titan Dieter Bohlen in the 1990s. The image of the gullible silly, the meanwhile very successful business woman, was able to shed to this day. She has been married to Franjo Pooth since 2000. In 2008 her husband’s company had to file for bankruptcy and the couple endured a public scandal. The two have two sons together.

early life

Her parents, Ernst and Luisa Feldbusch, moved to Hamburg with Verona and her brother when she was just one year old. Verona attended secondary school there and left the commercial and higher commercial school in Holzdamm at the end of the 1980s, but without a degree.

At the age of 15 she was approached by a photographer on the street and since then she has worked regularly as a model. In 1990 she was approached by DJ Alexander Christensen in a nightclub and asked if she wanted to produce a song with him. Verona Pooth, then Feldbusch, sang, among other things, the song “Ritmo de la Noche” as part of the group Chocolate. The song became a pan-European success and was a summer hit in 1990. The music formation Chocolate received a gold record for this success in 1990 and went on tour. This was also the beginning of the collaboration between Verona Pooth and her manager Alain Midic, who helped her to become even better acquainted.

Career

Verona Pooth not only made a name for herself as a singer. From 1989 she began to take part in beauty pageants at home and abroad. Here her exotic beauty came in handy. In 1990 she was elected Miss Hamburg and took second place in the Miss Germany election. In 1993 she was once again Miss Hamburg and Miss Germany. She represented Germany as a beauty queen and took part in the Miss World pageant in Sun City in the same year. Other titles such as Miss Intercontinental World and Miss American Dream followed.

She gained fame throughout Germany, beyond the beauty scene, through her lightning wedding with Dieter Bohlen. The pop singer, who was already well known at the time, and the beauty from Hamburg married in 1996 in Las Vegas. However, the marriage did not last long. After just a few weeks, the two separated, allegedly because there had been an incident of domestic violence on the part of Dieter Bohlen. The marriage was divorced after about a year.

However, Verona Pooth used the newly gained notoriety to secure various advertising deals. She was also able to draw attention to herself on television with her Lolita-like and naive manner. She initially hosted the show Peep!. Formats such as Verona’s World, The Swan – Finally Beautiful and Angels in Action – followed with Verona Pooth.

Due to the investigations against her husband, however, some TV stations and advertising partners temporarily stopped working with her.

She was also seen as an actress in some feature films such as “Who loves grows wings”, “Modern Talking” or “Marry me!”. In 2005 she lent her voice to the character “Susi Schnatter” in the film “Himmel und Huhn”.

But Verona Pooth is also more than successful as an entrepreneur. Since 1990, together with a friend, she has been running the boutique Immerschön in Hamburg. The lingerie and jewelry line “Veronas Dreams” sold very successfully at Karstadt and in the Otto mail-order company. In 2008 Verona Pooth launched her own cosmetics line “So…Perfect”.

“Die Pooth” is also known as an advertising face in Germany. Whether she’s waiting for the Blubb for the igloo, washing her hair for Schauma, or praising the retailer KIK, Verona Pooth increases awareness and sales.

One of the highlights of her career is the award with a gold record in 1990. But also the various titles in beauty contests, Miss Germany 1993 or Miss American Dream in 1995 have been highlights in her career. In 2003, Maxim newspaper named her Women of the Year (Business Woman).
