Zlatan Ibrahimovic – Swedish soccer player of Bosnian-Croat origin, Los Angeles Galaxy Club MLS forward. Former captain of the Swedish national team. He is considered one of the most unpredictable and skillful strikers of his generation. According to The Guardian, Ibrahimovic ranked third among the best football players in the world in 2013. According to Swedish magazine Dagens Nyheter, Ibrahimovic was ranked second in the list of the state’s most gifted athletes of all time.
Born in Malmö in the Rusengård region in the family of Yugoslav emigrants. His father Shefik Ibrahimovic is a Bosnian Muslim Slav from Tuzla and his mother Yurka Gravich is a Croatian from Zadar. They met and married in Sweden. At the age of eight, Zlatan began to play for the children’s team of the Balkan Club, in which only immigrants from the Balkan countries played. He was immediately accepted into an older age group.
He played for Malmö youth teams from the age of 12 and made his first-team debut in 1999. After spending two years at the club, he joined Dutch Ajax in the summer of 2001 for €7.8million. In Amsterdam, Zlatan won two league titles and one country’s cup for three years. In the summer of 2004 he moved to Italy’s Juventus for 16 million euros.
